What is Zaprex

Ingot's background coding agent: it works on your repos while you're away and hands you draft pull requests.

Zaprex is Ingot's personal background coding agent. It works on your repositories while you are away, runs scheduled routines (for example a nightly test-and-fix), opens draft pull requests, chats with you in its own app at zaprex.dev/app, notifies you when it needs you, remembers how you and your projects work, and always asks before risky actions.

What it is good at

  • Fixing failing tests: it runs your test suite, finds the cause, changes the code and runs the tests again.
  • Small changes you keep postponing: bumps, refactors, renames, missing types.
  • Routines on a schedule, like a Nightly test-and-fix, so you wake up to a branch and a summary.
  • Follow-ups: ask it to address review comments on a draft PR and it picks up where it left off.

How it works, in one paragraph

You give Zaprex a task in the Zaprex app (or a routine starts one). The Ingot server checks that your plan includes Zaprex, queues the run, and a worker starts a fresh, isolated sandbox for it. Zaprex reads, edits and runs your tests in that sandbox, streams every step to the run log, pauses for your approval before anything risky, and finishes by pushing a new branch and opening a draft pull request. The sandbox is destroyed when the run ends.

Where you use it

  • The Zaprex app at zaprex.dev/app: chat, runs, run log and approval cards. Zaprex is its own app, separate from the Ingot IDE.
  • From the Ingot IDE: the small Zaprex T-rex next to the agent opens the Zaprex app in your browser. The IDE has no Zaprex panel of its own.
  • Your Zaprex dashboard: GitHub, routines, memory and notifications, on the Ingot portal.
  • zaprex.dev: product site and docs. Sign in with your Ingot account.
Zaprex is in beta. Some features below are marked as coming later; everything else is live.
